Lots reloading stuff on many different tables
I managed to snag....

150 pieces of new Winchester .380 brass...$17

2 cans/2 lbs of Winchester W-231...$15/can

2 cans/2 lbs of Winchester W-296...$15/can

3 Boxes (500/box) Hornady 158gr SWCs...$60 for all three boxes

The worst part was hauling the loot out to the car! The dang bullets were pretty darn heavy!

Well done, I didn't think I would hear of $15/lb W231 ever again, even if it is old stock powder.

Wonder how old those cans of powder are? I don't believe they currently make them in cans, do they?

Thanks for the replies fellow reloaders.....Wish I had found a gun or two to display with the powder, bullets and brass!

I've never purchased .380 brass before...always picked up or found used range brass...what the heck...it's good to have a few more ready to size, prime & pack.

carnage7,

Welcome to the Forum!! Glad you dropped in!

The Winchester cans cans are a few years old. I can't say for sure when Winchester switched over the the current plastic powder jugs, but all were sealed and are completely full. I have shot LOTS of "older" powder and have not been able to measure a difference either over the Chrony or at the bull. Good stuff.

I shoot a LOT of .38 Special "range fodder"...easy going loads, "bunny farts" if you will, they can help make sessions at the range fun...I don't wear out as fast when the recoil is kept in check! Also like the fact that these (and Zero) swagged bullets are just the ticket for punching paper!! My bride, kids and new shooters also like "bunny fart" loads...they can help keep new shooters from developing a recoil aversion flinch!

I may hit the gun show again after chrurch tomorrow...never know what someone will part with rather than haul back home!

Very good score you made.
I went to the small local show today and came home empty handed. What powder I saw was $30 per lb.,primers $35 per 1,000 and up. Federal bulk 22's 525 pack @$25.
Mostly black rifles and semi-auto handguns.
Plus nobody wanted to buy either one of my Rugers I was carrying around.

vf- your powder is from late 80's to maybe mid 90's. used to sell a bunch of it during the day. wanted to come to kc but not walking very good right now. still plan on making the summer show though. looks like you had a good time.

Thanks folks...I went back today and broke the bank on three guns! I will post these in the lounge in a while. A Winchester 250 lever-rimfire, a pre-Highway Patrolman & a Ruger 357 Maximum. All three as clean as any I own.

No more reloading stuff today...it had been really well picked over!
