Yesterday was my second match since my surgery in January (story about that http://smith-wessonforum.com/lounge/406901-im-sidelines-while.html) And I really screwed the pooch. First stage, 20 round count, I load 23 round mag, put in a Barney round for extra insurance, shooting very well (probably since there wasn't a lot of movement, just shooting though a bunch of slits. Shot #19 and my gun goes to slide lock, ***?, reload and finish, lost a couple of seconds or more because of reload and wondering what just happened. Figured out the edge of the mag extension were catching the legs of the follower only allowing 18 to be loaded instead of 23, (and of course I didn't count them loading the mag, lesson learned). Next stage was a classifier and of course I shot the white guy. 
. next two stages were pretty good considering my hobbling around with a bum leg. Next stage I didn't get a full seat on a mag and it dropped after my shot with the round still in the chamber, but I always carry a spare mag for this situation. Wait, I'm still not done 
next stage is a 24 round stage with a couple of steel, so I put a 28 and a 22 round mag on my belt, the 22 is a backup. Load and make ready, stand by, beep, off I go. Doing well, got to the end and you guessed it, slide lock after shot 22
, I reloaded and as I did I noticed I was putting the 28 mag in. I had loaded the wrong mag at the start. . All in all, a learning experience. My mind was just not there. Been a while since I've shot outdoors, I broke my hip in December (had that joint replaced 18 years ago and it finally failed) so I've been on the mend, but I didn't break my head and that's where the problems came from yesterday. Thought you guys might find this amusing. It was so screwed up I had to laugh it off.
