Maybe everyone knows this but I did not. The lower quick change assembly for the Hornady LNL progressive will not work with older LNL case activated powder measures.
I ordered the Hornady Quick Change Powder Die. It is the part that goes on the press and the powder measure goes into it. The new part is designed for a short vertical return spring. My older progressive uses a longer diagonal spring.
It does not have a way to hook onto the shorter spring. The old linkage is different and will not work with the shorter spring. I know this because I called Hornady. They informed me it will not work with older machines.
I bought my Hornady progressive early 2000. I am returning the part to MidwayUSA. I am out just the postage, I think.
The MidwayUSA part number is # 21522. There was/is no information about a design change.
