20 of the 50 states in the US and France! have said G,day and made us feel welcome, thank you.

I'm assuming the gun laws in the US vary from state to state, without stirring up a political hornets nest..... is that possible? which states have strict laws for hand guns vs those that are more relaxed and allow those to carry?
If i'm allowed to ask that? if not i apologise in advance and please delete it
Cheers

So.... The wife and I are finally members of an approved gun club.

Took a while because i'm in Australia, but was born in the UK. Now, even though i emigrated with my family when i was 5, they asked for a stat dec stating that i have no criminal history overseas..... are they kidding or what? clearly i could have been a bank robber at 4 years old, Hmmmm

So now we have to wait for 6 months and a day before we can apply for a license, then.... OMG it's a beauracratic nightmare! we can apply for a "permit to acquire" and with that we can buy our own hand guns, bit only one each!
That's putting the cart before the horse though, because that's 6 months away, then about 2 months to be approved and licensed then another month for the permit to be issued.

It's an exercise in patience, of course, our guvmint do this deliberately to weed out anyone who isn't determined, which, because i'm a bit of an anarchist makes me MORE determined if for no other reason than well, **** them.

At least you're in Qld mate. Heaps more restrictions down here south of the border. You're quite lucky compared to most other states. Good luck and stick with it.

Welcome from Western Wyoming. If you're wife likes the 1911 platform look at something in 38 super. Low recoil and shoots great.
