My son Mike and I are saltwater guides on the coast of Maine.
Last week on a charter my son had, he got talking hunting and fishing with his client. My son shared that he and I collected knives.
When they got back to the dock the client asked Mike to come to his car.
He pulled out two G L Drew fixed blade knives, told my son he too was a collector and that Drew was one of his favorite makers.
Told my son to pick the one he wanted and give the other one to me.
Not a bad tip for me when I never did the charter!

GL Drew does make great knives, I happen to own one. He is a prolific and talented blade smith. He lives in the western part of NC.

I also own a G.L. Drew fixed blade hunting/trail knife, and am well pleased
with it. He provides a well made knife with good attention to detail, not a
lot of fancy frills to run the price up, and his prices are very reasonable.
He can be found on the Blade Forum Custom Makers for Sale area. He
makes a wide variety of knives, including very nice filet knives.
