Tried out the M&P the other day and was really impressed. They fit my hand better than the Glock and seem to point more naturally for me. First slow-fire mag went into a single ragged hole at 7 yds. First rapid-fire mag was a 6" group...fast as I could press the trigger as the sights came back on target. Thinking about making the switch from my G19...will definitely keep it. But...an 8+1 .45 that fits my hand and is about as concealable as the G19 is almost too good to be true. The G30 SF still feels like a brick to me, and I never have liked the feel of the G36 either.

Now...just have to decide if I want to get the safety and run it like a 1911 or keep it off like that Glock...then I have to call up Milt Sparks and wait for another VM2.

Being one transitioning FROM a 1911' to a DAO(ish) pistol action, I'd say stay with the non-thumb safety variant. If your used to the G's action already from long time carry, it will translate into a seamless swap. Since I'm so 1911' oriented now, I find myself attempting to automatically sweep off the thumb safety, when I'm shooting a revolver! (No joke!) It's a twitch my thumb just can't get rid of now?

DO NOT WAIT! From a former Glock owner, this is the best advice I can give. From the time I first Fired an M&P I have not wanted to return to the land of Glock.

My experience going from a G17 & G22 to an M&P 40 & M&P 9c:

* Better ergonomics
* Better feel
* Better sights
* Just as tank-tough
* Better accuracy
* Safer breakdown
* All fully-supported chambers
* Made in America

For someone who have owned both, I carry the
MP 45c, sold all Glks long ago. Now all MP. Nice
guns. MP uses Glk 20/21 and 29/30 holsters also

The M&P grip is much more comfortable, in my humble opinion, than any Glock I know of. The M&P is just a really nice and accurate pistol.
