Last night, March 20th, the GA House and Senate passed HB-60. This is the bill that Moms Demand Action called the "Guns Everywhere Bill". After wrangling between the two chambers, a bill passed with most of what had been sought. It does still contain "Katrina language", which to many was important. It allows churches to "opt-in" and allow members with a GWCL to carry at church. The specifics, in writing, have yet to be posted by the clerk of the legislative chambers.

Now, maybe Gabby Giffords and her husband and Michael Bloomberg will find another state to bother. The loudest outcry against this bill came from out-of-state individuals and organizations.

GeorgiaCarry.Org has sent notification to its membership that all of us are invited to the signing of HB-60 on Wednesday, April 23rd, in Elijay, GA. Governor Deal will sign the bill. Seems that the efforts of Michael Bloomberg, EveryTown and Moms Demand Action, did not have the impact they had hoped for. Guess GA does not like outsiders interfering in our affairs.

HB-60 was signed on April 23rd and gets implemented July 1st. I truly thank the legislators for passing this and the governor signing it into law. It sure does not sit well with the Bloomberg groups, Moms Demand Action and EveryTown. Gabby Gifford and her out-of-this-world husband are very disappointed, too.

Gotta give props to MY state representative, Rick Jasperse from Jasper, GA, who introduced the bill in the first place.

Way to go Rick!

I have always said that this should be the law everywhere. Since Johnny no goods have no respect for anything (which includes churches) then why not allow CC in churches. I give Kudos to Ga. on this and nice to have a neighboring state like this.
