Gads, what an ugly little thing ...

Ron H, I'm not a fan of the Bodygaurd frame, but, that revolver has has something about it. It's no safe queen, it looks as if it's gone places and seen things.

My favorite snubs are Bodyguards, two M649s to be exact.

My first was an "experienced" M49 for years but gave it to my oldest son. I don't think he uses it much and sometimes I wish I had it back.

I agree!!

Guys, thanks for the input. As has been noted, pretty is as pretty does, and it seems to do just fine. I think it's printing low and left because of the asymmetrical shape of the grip (bigger on the right side). Not a major concern at bellygun distances, though.

Single-action, 7 yards

Double-action is another story--you'll notice there's no pic of that target.

I kept them all on the paper, but clearly need to practice with this little thing. Whole lot harder to shoot fast and straight than a 4-inch N-frame.

Semper Fi,

Ron H.

No Ron that's beautiful, loved handguns are carried not left in an old dark safe...

I've heard that Ben Franklin said that, "all cats are gray in the dark" (meaning women).
I'll bet that will be one beatiful gun if you have to use it and it's dark!
I'm not a fan of the 49 either, but they have so much character what's not to like?

I really like the 49. This one has a lot of character!
I have wanted one for quite awhile since handling one at a show a couple of years ago. It just seems like every time I find one the owner wants a fortune or I am broke.
I would trade my 37 for a 49 like that in a hot second!

Make an ugly woman your wife.

Why, because she'll always be there for you.

That's a pretty piece, deserving of respect and honest use. Yes the Bodyguards aren't the prettiest, but you can grow to love them deeply. I prefer the Airweights and own a pretty (to me) nickle-plated 638 at the moment.

Nice, well used and honest gun... but you knew that, right? Wanna sell it?

Nice gun. I've got my Dad's nickel model 49, which was given to him many years ago by a stranger shooting next to him at the range. This guy couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with that gun, blamed the gun and asked whether my Dad wanted it -- for nothing. Thank goodness, Dad said yes! Shoots a whole lot better for me with a Tyler T grip adaptor.

Ugly is in the eyes of the beholder. For me beauty and experience go hand in hand! While I never tire of viewing the safe queens preserved by our collector friends, I also enjoy seeing the work horses carried and well used by our LEO friends. To me, they are all worth cherishing, they are S&Ws! Hats off to the collectors amoung us for preserving and sharing the photos of their quests. Hats off also for the lawmen and CCWs who have shared their well worn soldiers with us! To me,they are all keepers...........
