Just installed the Galloway kit in my SD9VE and wanted to post my results. I purchased the kit with the sear spring included.

Installation was as one might expect except for the fact that the galloway doesn't have a slave pin included for reassembly.

Sear spring assembly can be a chore but with some patience it will go right back together. I suggest the use of a vise or other clamping system to hold the sear block.

Trigger pull before swapping parts using RCBS trigger pull gauge - 8.0 lbs.

Trigger pull after swapping parts using RBS trigger pull gauge - 7.0 lbs.

Needless to say, I was somewhat disappointed in the final results and will look to replace the Galloway with the Apex.

The weapon did fire flawlessly with numerous mixed loads afterwards. I did take and polish the striker block, the striker, the sear, and the trigger bar before firing but after initial measurements. It is now like a "Kahr" trigger. Long but smooth as silk. I will do a direct comparison to the Apex when it gets here.

I did the Galloway install several months back. And like you found out, not worth it. I posted my findings here as well. Galloway does make a host of other products that are good, but this is a dud. They used to say on their website that the pull would be reduced to as low as "3.5", but they've backed off to "4.5". Galloway does give you a 30 day money back guarantee. I went with the Apex, much better.

The triggers on my bone stock M&P Pros settled down to a very smooth pull just a touch above 4#, with nothing more than normal cleaning and shooting.
In spite of the great push to "gotta modify" I think the added initial expense of the Pro for the trigger and sights is a good deal, better than some of the expensive "enhancements."

I am also starting to see some people show up at competitions with the FSS trigger and be shocked to find they are no longer eligible for stock/production divisions, and are shooting against STI raceguns. "No externally visible action modifications" in stock/production.

I actually came here to post a review on the Galloway trigger myself. I ordered two kits this month, one for my SD9 and one for my SD9VE. Both had Apex kits in them already that measured around 6.5lbs, but I wanted to see if I could take off another 1-2lbs. No dice. Both Galloway kits came in at just over 7lbs. I emailed them and said I it was suspect that neither kit could produce anything better than 7lbs. They basically said that I should return the kits if not satisfied. Sounds to me like they are selling a 7lb trigger kit in the hopes that people don't actually have a trigger gauge. 4.5lbs-5.5lbs? Not even close.

On the other side of the coin I did put a Galloway kit in a Ruger P-85 MKII and a Kahr CM9 last year. The former kit worked out great and really improved the trigger. The latter kit was not too bad and did improve things a little. So if you have an older Ruger (or a Kahr) then Galloway may be for you. Otherwise I recommend you stay away. Especially now that Apex is coming out with a polymer AEK trigger for the SD series.

I wanted to follow up my initial review now that my apex kit has arrived. Just finished installing it and with the polished parts and new springs -

5.75 lbs and smooth as silk.

Awful "Kahr"ish if you know what I mean.
It may not be a "Glock Killer" but it is certainly gonna be a contender.
Now to put it through its paces this weekend with a bucket of mixed loads. Its gotta be the best 299.00 gun out there. For a total investment of less than 350.00 for the gun with tax and apex trigger - Ive got one heck of a shooter I believe.

What are you using to polish?

i did the galloway spring upgrade for my sigma 40 about 2 or 3 years ago. i also did the trigger area clean up. the kit took a 10 pound trigger down to about 6 pounds. many rounds fires and no problems. so to me it was money well spend.

Keeping my SD9VE stock, so I have an unused, NIB, Apex trigger kit for sale. FREE SHIPPING. Will post ad for it in Classifieds as per Forum Rules.
