Went to Gander Mountain on Saturday to see if they had any Federal Automatch .22LR left (On sale at $17.99 for box of 325). At 4:00 PM, they were out, but I managed 5 boxes of Remington Thunderbolt ($2.29 a box of 50). Several clerks stated they would put out more Federal in the morning (Sunday).
So, I returned on Sunday, and joined a mere 6 other people waiting for them to open. At 9:00 AM, we all calmly walked back to the ammunition department and purchased our allotted maximum of 10 boxes (3250 rounds).
The point being, maybe it's another good sign that the hoarders have maxed out. The prices are certainly not unreasonable (4.5 cents and 5.5 cents a round), as the "regular" price was $19.99 (6.1 cents a round). I imagine that this ammo should be available regularly, since there was no mad rush for a sale on Sunday morning.
In any case, that gives me about 6,000 rounds of .22LR which is sufficient for now. Still having trouble finding .357 though.
