I have a buddy who owns this magnificent Thompson SMG. I'll have to get a refresher on the particulars from him.

In the "silhouette" picture, the Thompson was outfitted with, of all things, a .22LR conversion kit!

Try posting your question here - machinegunboards.com There are a number of collectors of 1920s & 30s criminal associated firearms and memorabilia there.

A little later than the 1920's and 30's....

..... but genuine Gangster Guns nonetheless.

Siezed in a Mexico City raid in the late 90's. I'm sure that the guns and the money have all been "recycled" by now...

My favorite... a Dope Lord Gun.

Looks like a religious engraving, Jesus or the Virgin?, on the handle of one in the 1st Mexican picture. Another says BVULGARI a very famous and exclusive jewelry firm sometimes spelled Bulgari. Strange choices for a drug lord.

The Houston Collectors site has a 1920 DWM Luger once owned by Legs Diamond. It comes with a snail drum magazine and a Bergen County, NJ Lieutenant's badge. The badge is from the LEO who arrested Diamond.

We're not allowed to post links to auction sites here, but you can look it up if interested. It appears that a significant portion of the asking price is for the history.

While I have had a number of gangsta era guns, I never knew for sure their history. I do have these authentic gangster "hit man" glass`s.
I worked in the early 1960`s with a old retired chicago cop. I belive he hired in about the mid 1920`s. He told me a story about getting a call to go to a shooting in a bar in the old stockyards. It was a mob hit on a guy with something to do with the union. "Ray" somehow knew the gunzo on a first name basis. The gunman had pulled a sawed off from under his overcoat to do the hit. Somehow in the process the gun went off and he blew off his own leg! Ray got to him as he was bleeding out. He said, ray, in my lincoln across da street you will find a metal box in da dash. Will ya take it to my wife? Ya can keep anything else ya want in da car. Ray said he kept a mannicure set and these glass`s. After telling me the story he said, "Ya ride a motor. Maybe you can use these."

That's Our Lady of Guadalupe, "the Mexican Madonna", or "the Patroness of the Americas". You will see her everywhere in Mexico, and I mean everywhere. Her image appears on window stickers on cars, on bandanas, and in little shrines that pop up everywhere, in the courtyards of hotels, in urban public spaces, on rock walls in the mountains, and in little shrines at any bend in the road or mountain pass.

Our Lady of Guadalupe - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It comes as no surprise to find her image on the grip of a Mexican drug thug's gun.

This is from a book on LAPD showing their GANGSTER SQUAD. LAPD bought 25 1917 commerical models and 25 Colt New Service models in May 1930 can't tell which one the officer is holding.

can you get a better pic of just the pic? i think my great uncle is in that pic! also any others of the gangster squad!?!?
