Garlic Again?

Nope, long way from ready yet. Couple of plants have started to put on their flower buds. I’m told you are supposed to cut off the buds so the plants use energy making bulbs rather than flowers. Gonna let a few more put on buds then pull, dice and flavor some scrambled eggs, fish or a fresh salad.

Really adds a mild garlic flavor.

I used to grow some champion garlic. It takes two years to grow a decent bulb. Chop off the flower heads the fist year and be patient. Trust me on this. Then you can plant the cloves and keep going in an annual rotation. Garlic is the staff of life, or was that beer?
 
Good looking patch of garlic. I’ve got a small patch of about 25 German Red hard neck garlic plants growing this year. It’s just starting to sprout here in the north east. Probably won’t see any scapes for another few weeks yet. Heck, we just had snow fall for the last two days and More predicted for tomorrow .
