Gas Price Check...

Be careful ...😨

I am okay but rattled after being robbed at a mini-mart tonight. After it was over and my heart stopped racing, I called police and they were prompt and very helpful calming me down as I was separated from a lot of money. They asked me if I knew who did it. I told them yes😣 it was Pump number 3.

On Thursday the average in my area was $4.40 per gallon.
Then on Thursday the state legislature passed a bill and the Governor signed it into law, to suspend the states gas tax for 30 days.
Most everyone is happy. Some like me are not.
The state government will find a way to recoup that money.
At the end of 30 days the gas tax ($0.37 per gallon) will kick back in and gas will probably increase even more due the price of oil going up.

The station I go to just dropped from 4.25 to 4.19.

The 7/11 down the street from work now shows $5.20/gallon for regular and diesel, that's up 20c in about 10 days.

Premium update: I25 corridor

Road trip from Colorado to Arizona to visit family. Honey, two dogs, two rifles, two S&W revolvers, ammo, three kettle bells, seven gallons of water, clothes for variable weather, dog food and toys stuffed into a roof box equipped Volvo V60 RD driven at least eight plus mph above the limit. MPG average 21 plus-ish, price per gallon $5.35+. To paraphrase an old friend, Miroslav, who escaped from the former east block; "Yes BK, today it is bad, but tomorrow it will be worse".:)

I appreciate that unlike a great many of my fellow Americans, my problems are minor and very first world.

The 7/11 down the street from work now shows $5.30/gallon for regular and diesel, that's up another 10c in about 5 days.

Around here gas jumped overnight to $4.39. We are going to further consolidate and cut back the number of shopping trips. We operate on a budget so the gas increase stings.

Gas station down the street from work had regular $5.10 and diesel $5.50.

According to the Vegas gas price website the cheapest regular is $4.59 if you pay cash, with diesel at $4.94.

I am currently in NE FL. In the past week gas has risen .36 per gal. From 4.09 to 4.45. What I find most interesting, usually you'll see a penny or two vacation from brand to brand, but while out this am every station I passed was uniformly a 4.45.
Interesting enough the Governor has announced a 30 day state gas tax period, assuming the summer horde of touristas will be
Coming but I can't imagine families keep their travel plans with cost of fuel.

...Maybe if we all cut back driving our gas hogs part of our problem would be solved.

Even as we all complain about gas prices, I still see people...

...lined up at drive-thru lanes...

...sitting in their cars, with engines idling, on parking lots...

...accelerating as they approach red lights they know they'll have to stop for...

...racing to get ahead of each other in traffic.

Actions speak louder than words, and our actions don't indicate that we really care about gas prices.

For those who are upset over gas prices here in the USA...the photo below is from one of the motorcycling groups I belong to on Facebook. These are fuel prices per liter last week in Berchtesgaden, Germany.

There are 3.785 liters in a US gallon, and the exchange rate at the time was 1.05 Euro to 1 US dollar. So, from top to bottom, diesel fuel is $9.54 and $10.22 per US gallon, while regular, mid-grade, and premium gasoline is $9.20, $9.46, and $10.14 per US gallon.

4.69 for the cheap stuff in Western NY. $5.09 for my wife's Audi because it requires 91 or higher octane. That Fatboys gonna get some miles this year.

Price where I live in Canada is 2.00 per litre Canadian funds, which translates to 5.94 per US gallon USD.
