Gatlinburg Tn is on fire

From what I see in most pictures posted on the highway of truth most of the areas around the buildings destroyed by fire show that the leaves on the ground burned and probably sent hot embers onto the roof of a lot of houses. I haven't been there to see personally but the trees looked to be burned but not to the point of total destruction. I wonder if these houses had steel roofs, if it could have prevented some of the destroyed buildings, hindsight I know. I know after years of falling leaves and dead branches this would contribute to lots of fuel for a fire. I read on militarydotcom that the NPS was offered some C130 fire fighting tankers but they never requested them which they had to do before they were released for fighting the fires. No matter the reason and arm chair quarterbacking this was a devastating fire for those in the area, I have relatives down in the area but were only effected by all the smoke, I wonder now with all the undergrowth burned if they can get a leash on the kudzu growing ramped around the area. When I was down there the last time it was growing ramped growing over parking lots and killing a lot of trees as it was growing on top of the tree and killing them.
The two juveniles charged with the fire will get off easy maybe a judgment against them which will never be paid, possible jail until their adults, and the guilt if it bothers them of at least 13 souls and wildlife, and a beautiful park that is the most visited national park in the US damaged.
Like Plain Old Dave stated most building destroyed and damaged was outside Gatlinburg and residential.
Prayers to all those in the area and a fast recovery for those that lost some and all and a fast recovery for those injured by the fire.

True, but that's all they're saying. Still lots of questions to be answered.
Was it just a couple of kids who had a campfire get away from them or was it intentional? No mention of their ages either.
We'll just have to wait for more details.
