.38 Super...my favorite caliber. Not sure how many but is more than fingers and toes combined....Semis, DA revovers, SA revolver and a TC Contender... Have been carrying a Commander daily since 1980...
Most any 1911 can be converted to Super from 9mm or 10mm. Have a Colt Defender 3" that stated out 9mm that a Fusion .38 Super was added... And two 10mm Longslides with 6" Fusion barrels added...WONDERFUL low recoil flat shooting guns...
Also probably one of the best snubbie rounds. Have a 649-2 .38 Special +P with an extra cylinder done by TK Custom. Unlike 9mm that will hangup with +P rounds the Super being a straight walled case does not.
A great out of the box carry gun is the Dan Wesson Guardian...about $1600 and very reasonable for what you get...all forged parts, hand fitted, bobtail grip, checkered frontstrap and night sights... That said, a Tisas Stingray can be had for $500 in 9mm and a barrel off ebay is $120....
It's too bad more makers don't chamber the round...
