Hi folks. Thought I would post this Q&A I had with Geiselle for any of you considering the Hi-Speed National Match Triggers. Note that the response is specifically for the High Speed triggers, some of Geiselle's other triggers can use their longer pins. Needless to say, I will be buying one as soon as I can get the wife's permission.

My question
Hi. I'm thinking of buying the Hi-Speed NM - Match Trigger for use in an S&W 15-22. However, I've heard some people discuss that the trigger and hammer pins may not work well in the 15-22 since the polymer receiver is thicker than a typical AR receiver (and thus the pins need to be longer). Do you know whether this trigger will work in a 15-22 "as is" or whether there is anything I can do (e.g., use different pins) to make it work? Thanks!

Geiselle's Response
Good Morning,

Thank you for contacting us. Your HS trigger will work “as is” in your 15-22. The pins however, will not be flush with the outside of the receiver but it will still be safe to operate. Unfortunately we do not have longer pins for the HS triggers as they require different pins than the longer ones we have due to the grooves in the pins that connect with a c-clip inside the pivot in the hammer to ensure that the pin does not walk out of the receiver. I hope this helps clarify.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

I just reused the pins from the existing trigger that came with the rifle. Or, you can get the 15-22 specific anti-walk pins.

Did you install a Geiselle Hi-Speed National Match Trigger?

Specifically, no. But I do have a Geissele SD3G trigger in my 15-22 using the stock pins.

If you have the KNS anti-walk pins, I fail to see how having a special groove is necessary when Geissele says it's to 'prevent the pin from walking out of the receiver'. But, I've been wrong before.

I've got well over 3,000 rounds through my 15-22 with a Geissele SD3G, and the Geissele pins. They haven't gone anywhere, and I don't expect them to. I called Bill Geissele personally, and talked to him before I ordered the trigger. I've had tons of compliments on the feel and function.
I sold a used set of anti-walks to a forum member, when I got the Geissele.

Too bad posters apparently can't be bothered to actually READ the post they're responding to.

The Hi-Speed National Match Trigger uses DIFFERENT PINS, not the generic 3 groove pins and Geisseles' (longer) 901 Colt pins, that ARE correct for the SD3G and others, ARE NOT CORRECT for the Hi-Speed National Match Trigger.

Not all small pin Geissele triggers use the same pins. The point I think the OP was making, IF you READ his post...

Yep, and it shows that in the PDF directions for installing the National Match Trigger and explains the difference for just that trigger and pins. They don't offer a set of longer pins for that pin application.
