Gen 1 vs Gen 2

I've been lugging M&Ps since 2006 (2006-2015 as duty sidearm) and never had any issues with "purchase", so I'm unsure exactly why you feel you need to hack away at your slide.

actually, as far as grip and control, I see the extended beavertail on the 1.0 as an advantage. why I went 1.0 over 2.0, and intend to continue doing so. (my lgs can still get them, so...)

whiskey If you feel you need to make changes make them , Its your pistol but for most of us slide grip is not an issue and I have no issues with grip control with my 40sw 4.25 . If you stipple the grip , its done , no going back and lighting a slide as cutting material away does can affect recoil specially if your shooting +P of hot loads in a 40sw .

A little skate board tape adds grip if and were its needed or a talon or traction grip tape made for a m&p is a grip aid . I seen some of these stipple jobs that were way to aggressive and screwed up a handgun . Maybe you should work on your grip strength .

We have 2 gen 4.25's 9mm core and 40sw and gen 1 a 9c and I have no interest in a M&P gen2 .

I am thinking
Any thoughts or recommendations?

Quit thinking?...Well you asked.I shouldn't talk...I've been thinking of dipping my entire gun in Flex Seal...maybe if I put a thick enough coat on and I drop it, it'll bounce back up and I can catch it.
