Gen 3 sight tool, final design

There is an ad in the accessories section. If you would kindly respond to the ad with the usual "I'll take it", followed by a PM, I'll get you one ready.

Sight pusher

Nice simple design, looks very durable.

I noticed that a link to your Sight was put on the review of my Sight Tool and had to check yours out.

Well done Sir,

Sight tool

It is the one reviewed by Gunsamerica, mentioned in post #18

OK, so that's your design. Very nicely done as well. Certainly less crudely manufactured than mine. Not sure which one is "better", I'm still doing some refinement on my design. There was a thread on the 1911 forum with guys complaining that their $100+ sight pushers were breaking and that the solution was some tool that cost over $600! :D

I think they both have good basic principles, yours has the edge in securing the slide and that's half the battle.

I saw these being posted as still for sale over at the 1911 forum. Are they, in fact, able to be purchased?

THey are still available. The "final design" has evolved a bit and they no longer have the "homemade" flavor. I stopped selling them here due to a perceived problem with also selling them on eBay. Lee sez it's ok to sell them here too, since it's not the same item. I'll get an ad in the accessories section probably this weekend.

I have brass tipped steel screws available. I'm not convinced they are the best choice in all applications. The pusher already includes a brass screw and a steel screw that has been ground flat on the end to minimize marring of the sight. A bit of painters tape on the sight helps as well.
