I acquired a couple of really nice Luger's a few decades back. I am interested in knowing more about them, their worth, and, a place to sell them.

I have searched a lot on the web sites and find it a bit of a daunting task to nail down the best one for my endeavors.

I imagine there are a number of interested parties here that follow trusted sites.

Which one would be the most advantageous for me to find what I seek?

I am willing to register and join so I can participate.

Thanx,

Thank you.

I will head in that direction.

It will be interesting as I have a couple in very nice condition and am anxious to see what the masses think.

People have been collecting Lugers for quite some time. Personally, I think the best resources are good old-fashioned books.
There's some great ones by Fred Datig.
The field is so huge that your eyes will bug out trying to find this out online. The books will help....

Jim,

Have the book. I know what they are. Trying to determine 'real' value in today's market. They are collectable and need to be valued accordingly.

I kept a track on DWM Lugers but there are so many manufacturers and provenance factors involved it may not be much help. Prices are virtually all from completed auctions on gunbroker. Matching serial numbers and good "straw" colors are pluses that separate the collectables from the shooters.

D.W.M P.08 4" Bbl. Pistol in 9x19.
Blue Book of Gun Values (39th Edition) indicates between $1895 in 95% condition and $2,150 in 98% condition for this gun. I have 68 recorded prices for this model gun from $750 to $6525 over a period of 4 Yrs 11 Mos ending February 11, 2019. The overall average price as of that date was $1749. No refurbs, no refinishes, regular sights. Mostly one magazine. All represented as 95% or better. No distinction for import location or engineering revision, if any, no special editions, no distinctions for box, papers, tools. Current or last MSRP is not given. The last 40 prices I have for this model since 01/01/2019 range from $768 to $6640 averaging $1832.

Yep, books are essential to any type of gun collecting. Here's a peek at my Luger reference books:
