Getting a Flu Shot?

Got flu last week and the shingles the week before...Pneumonia in 6 mos....
I think i may be over protected???? If you can be?????

Not getting a flu shot, Have not had one in 40 years and had never had the flu. I don't see the point. I no longer hang around children who go to those germ infested things called schools so I don't get sick anymore. Haven't even had a cold for years.

Thought I was gonna pass on with flu in 1994. Swore if I lived I would get flu shot from then on. I lived, get the shot each year and have not had flu since. Pneumonia shot 2 years ago, this years extra dose (old timer) flu shot two weeks ago. Hope no one gets the flu. It can be brutal.

I've gotten one every year for a long time. Got a shingles shot and pneumonia vaccine when I turned 60, and due a pneumonia booster next year when I am 65.

Used to never get a flu shot but since I got old and since it's free and medicare pays for it been getting it every year and no flu. Had the pneumonia shot earlier this year and the Dr. said it's a one time thing at my age. Medicare covered that one too. Probably should get the shingles shot but have to pay for it and the price is too much for me. Had light case of shingles about 30 years ago and just rolling the dice on not getting it again.

My wife and I got the swine flu shot when we were both in the Army in 1977, both of us got very sick (along with many other military personnel) They found out later that it was a bad batch of vaccine. I get a flu shot every year and so does my wife (she has to, she's a nurse and they're required to).

As the saying goes.... some protection is better than no protection. I've gotten the flu shot basically every year for the past 15. Being around a lot of children and health compromised seniors, it is important for me to not be sick.

I have bad lungs--COPD and bronchiectasis. A real case of flu could, I'm told, put me out of business. I've been getting the shot for a long time and haven't had flu for over thirty years. I've also never had anything but the very mildest reaction to the vaccine.

I'll keep taking the vaccination for the same reasons I carry a gun, a cell phone and a knife. Why chance not having it when you need it?

I'm getting one like I do every year. Last year I did get the flu because that year's shot didn't cover the flu strain that was going around. Regardless, I was only out for 3 days. If you get a flu shot, but still catch the flu, you're likely to have a quicker recovery time than those who don't get it.

Also, average 20 degree days in Pennsylvania winters? You bet I'm definitely getting mine.
