So I just purchased a Springfield Armory XDM Elite 10mm with six 16 round magazines for a decent price. Going to pick it up in the morning and I can't wait to shoot it.

I bought a Springfield GI 1911 many years ago and have had zero issues with it.

I'll post a range report soon.

Welcome to the 10mm club! I don't have an XD, but have a small assortment of others.

I had planned on buying a 10mm Pistol back in 2021, but unfortunately it was right in the midst of the gunbuying panic, so they were unobtainable for any reasonable price at the time, so I ended up going in a different direction...

Similar in power to 10mm Auto, but with greater mass, weight, and momentum.

I wanted one when the Bren 10 was released, but when the Bren 10 went **** up, I couldn't get a warm and fuzzy feeling about the Colt Delta 10 or S&W 10mm.

Now, with the resurgence of interest in full power 10mm, if I could find a CZ75 based model, I'd probably jump on it.

I've got a XD-M 4.5 10MM, I really like that pistol and it's been flawless through about 800 rounds so far. All of my Springfields have performed flawlessly. I've also got a Glock 20SF in 10MM that I haven't even shot....I need to go shoot that pistol.. :)

I was bit by the 10mm bug a while back , it's just a great round . I have a 1006 , 1076 , 610 , CS40/10mm and an Iver Johnson 1911 long slide . I picked up the IJ at an estate sale , a member of the range I shoot at , so I figured if he bought it , can't be too bad . So I bought it , nib , for $600 . It also came with 6 mags , can't complain . I like my 10mm's , but the IJ fast became one of my favourites , that extra inch makes a big difference ! Add in the adjustable rear , and it's a blast to shoot . So whatever you buy , just go out and enjoy it .

One of the few compensations of working for a small, rural, underfunded, understaffed sheriff's office in the intermountain West is that we can (within reason) carry whatever we want so long as we can pay for it and qualify with it. For me that means a para DSA 58 (FN FAL) and a Glock 40. There is little radio com and no back up in the vast forests I patrolled, so big, heavy, fast bullets, and lots of them, were indicated to deal with a host of top-tier predators, to include bears, wolves, mountain lions, and drunken, chainsaw-armed 300 pound loggers.

Good news, you can! Look into the Tanfoglio Witness 10mm!

So I finally made it out to shoot my new 10mm XDM. So here's some of my first thoughts:

The gun fully loaded is fairly heavy but it seems fairly well balanced. I thought I was really going to like the trigger thru a few dry fires. But when shooting the final break seemed a bit stiff, perhaps it was just me? And I'd say it will improve as the round count gets up there.

The first half dozen rounds I just fired into the side of a hill but the next 6 I put into a target at 7 yards offhand.

A bit high but I'm just getting used to the big 10.

Then here's 7 I believe I fired at 25 yards from a sandbag rest.

I put 25 rounds thru her and had to pack up and leave (dinner date with wife)

My first impressions are all good. I've been warned about 10mm recoil. It didn't seem that bad to me. It was comfortable even. I like the U notch white outline rear and red fiber optic front sight.

The grip safety and the trigger safety didn't bother me at all. Nor do the ambidextrous slide stop and mag release. The front of the trigger guard is in perfect position for my left index finger. Overall I think even with the size and weight I'm going to be a happy camper.

Here the big 10 is beside my Sig P365:

I like the 10mm. I also like revolvers, so my 10 is this baby: an S&W 610.

Nice

I was on a revolver kick a few months ago and picked up these two:

But my latest additions have all been semi-autos. I believe I'm going back to revolvers next. I want an old S&W model 29 and a Ruger Blackhawk 45LC

The S&W model 19 on the bottom of that pic is probably my favorite gun. If I like this 10mm enough I might have to add a 610 LOL

I bought a Glock 41 (45 acp long slide) a few years back and have been enjoying it. Also acquired a 10mm drop in conversion barrel to experiment with and thus far, flawless. I have been advised to get an accomplished smith to work the extractor over and get a 23lb spring for shooting the 10mm. As of yet, I have done neither. If anyone is interested KKM precision makes the ss barrel conversion. I have two others from them for my G23. Excellent work.

Ive recently started to shoot 10mm as I acquired some "cheap" ammo years ago.."misplaced" it for 10 years and only have one pistol in 10mm. (Colt Delat Gold Cup NM) Its a snappy cartridge even out of an autoloader.
Surprisingly 10mm has become easier to find (on store shelves )than 38 special and reasonably priced. Sign of the times I guess.

Welcome to the Rabbit hole.

The 10MM Auto is a great cartridge, I have single shots, revolvers, semi autos and even an SMG and there is no end in sight.

The single shots and the revolvers have had their chambers lengthened to shoot the 10MM Magnum as well as the 10MM Auto

The Long Slide was at the range just a coluple of Months ago

Not Bren 10s, but it is easy to find reasonably priced magazines for them

My two favorite semiauto calibers are .40S&W and 10mm Auto. I see them as the .38Spl+P and .357M of the semiauto world, and have pistols for both. I bought a 2nd Gen G20 back in 1992 when it was first introduced; I came to really like 10mm, although I never warmed up to the plastic fantastic Glock. I finally sold it and bought a Ruger SR1911 chambered for 10mm and now like 10mm even better.
