Glock 17 DETHRONES M&P9 edc gun!

Yeah, there was that 2nd gen M1911, known as the M1911-A1, which addressed issues raised by cavalry troops, namely, it was too difficult to rack the slide from condition 3 while riding a horse and holding the reins, and then the hammer could bite the hand during firing.

But that was like the 1st few years. How many generations has Glock been through the last 20 years?:D

The department I work for transitioned from S&W 65's to Glock 22s in the early 90's. Glock traded one for the 65's for a G22 (we might have thrown in $50 or so, I just can't remember).

When it came to trade it was Glock for Glock.

The G22s were great and never really had any issues overall. Avery serviceable and dependable pistol.

In 2012 we did an evaluation of five guns, G22, M&P40, Beretta pX4,Springfield XD and Sig 250. Without going into the details, the only one that passed everything was the M&P. The G22 was a close second, but didn't do as well.

I went out a bought a M&P40, and love the gun.

That being said, if I had only a G22 I wouldn't feel in the least bit bad.

At this point it really is a matter of personal preference.
