Hello all,

I recently saw a video where James Yeager said that an S&W rep said that Smith is going to come out with a glock 19 size M&P sometime soon. Does anyone know if there is any truth to that?

Thanks

I guess I could say there close enough in size already and even closer in length with out the beaver tail and the major difference is in height of 1/2" and that really does not make or break in in any way .

There are far better people to get info out of than james yeager. I doubt anyone from s&w take him seriously enough to give any real info too. Also some of the "certifications he has as a firearms trainer are nor real, just BS . He even had his CCW revoked over all his threatening to kill people over his government rant for a 1 1/2 years do to his running of his mouth.

Any how , don't pay much attention to this guy.

The G19 basically splits the difference between the M&P full size and compact. There is basically an inch in length and just over two ounces difference between those full size and compact. I don't know if there is a need for S&W to try to make a gun to split that small of a difference.

The mid-sized .45 M&P is almost exactly the size of a G19 9mm, height and over length. Maybe a bit wider, but not much at all.

The main part of this story is forget you ever heard of james yeager . He is an nut case. Full of more bull than anyone should beleave .

Might be a good idea, but who is James Yeager?

Yeager is a foul mouthed self proclaimed know it all that has a gun shooting school and does you tube videos. He spent some time as a mercenary over in the sand box where he made a fool of himself. He seems to have continued in that tradition and he has the video to prove it.

No need for one, M&P full size is a smidge smaller than a G17, M&P compact is a smidge larger than a baby Glock rendering anything they attempt in between those two sizes awkward.

I prefer S&W's current version of small, medium and large (Shield, Compact, Full Size) vs. Glock's (G26, G19 & G17). I will say the G19 is a good handfun if you can only have one handgun and can conceal it.

LOL No Yeager love here!
It would be awesome if S&W were to make a G19 sized M&P! I own a FS and a compact and I would buy one in a heartbeat.
I have owned G19 and G23 pistols in the past and feel they are the perfect size. I ditched Glock because of the ergonomics.

What I would like to know is.....when will Glock make an M&P sized gun?

In that size my 6906/696 is king..

I do, too. And, actually, this lineup is what drove me to Smith & Wesson instead of Glock. A have a few friends who have Glocks and I've shot them and like them okay. I don't care for the grip angle, but there are inexpensive aftermarket solutions that fix that for me (Grip Force beavertails).

I was looking for something very slim. Glock doesn't have a single-stack version of a 26, which is essentially what a Shield is. This summer, I bought a Shield and really enjoy it. I like the quality and performance of it so much, that I'm selling my CZ P-09 to buy a fullsize M&P 9 (hopefully before the Dec 3 magazine rebate offer expires).

So in the end, Smith's decision on how they organized their M&P portfolio is what started me down the road. And the quality material and construction of the Shield will earn Smith another M&P sale from me.
