Glock 42 : hang onto your shield

The Glock 42's are flying off of a LGS shelves at $100 over MSRP. A rep came by our shop with one a couple weeks ago and for me it was love at first feel. I immediately ordered one. Being a grumpy old purist, I used to hate Glocks (not to mention, they are plain dog butt ugly. I carried 1911's, Browning HiPowers, Colt and Smith revolvers on duty for years. It took being issued a 645 (gag, puke) and later a 4043 (hack) and not being able to go back to the previous carry guns for me to appreciate a Glock. I now own a bunch of Glocks. They are great tools. I can't develop any emotional attachment for them like I can my German made PPK/S, pre 1970 Colts or my P&R Smith revolvers, so if a Glock is lost or damaged, I just buy another. And before anyone attacks for my lack of love for the aforementioned Smith autos, this past week, I bought a NIB no dash Model 39. The 42 will be a great back up or motorcycle riding gun. I don't care about one less round than.....or a little less power than a 9mm, because I'm comfortable in my gunhood.

Wow $100 over MSRP. I know a 2 LGS who have had a hard time selling just a few. Plenty others left on the shelf. I have a feeling i better go buy a few and hold onto them for a few more months. Then list them on the broker.

I had extensive surgery on my right wrist and had to find the softest recoiling handgun in order for me to be able to practice more, after the initial reports about the G42 I decided to pick one up and first range trip I confirm that is very soft shooter.

Thank you for the information! All of the reviews I have read say the same.
