MPS1, wlcome to the forum! I guess I've done it the opposite of many, by owning the M&P before the Glock. I got a M&P 9c a few years ago, and like it OK. It is a very comfortable grip, and it points pretty well. I really do not like the trigger that came with it, gritty and mushy, not a good combo... It has not 'cleaned up' very well with use, either. I understand you can get the Apex trigger for it, but it should come with something better from the factory. The overall build quality is decent.
I resisted the Glock-thing for years, but finally broke down and got a Gen 4 19 early this year. I know there were reports of early guns with some feed issues, but mine has the new spring set, and I've had no problems with factory and re-load rounds. Unlike prior generation Glocks, the Gen 4 felt much better in my hand, and points well.
So, owning both, I was surprised that I now would give the edge to the Glock. The Gen 4 19 has a much better trigger out of the box than the 9c, and better than the mushy Gen 3s that I've tried in the past... They both feel good in the hand, and point well for me. They have both been 100% reliable, but I definitely shoot the Glock more accurately, and to point of aim better, compared to the M&P.
In the end you have to go with what works best for you. They are both good pistols. Some people will bash one, or the other, but I don't think you can't go wrong with either. To me, if you want a M&P you should just get it. Hey, it's only money, right...! You certainly don't need a new pistol that is similar to the one you already have, but you sure can get one.
Good luck with your decision, and let us know what you do...
Hi
and thanks for the response. iTS not a matter of choosing (i own 8 glocks 6 sig's and a few berettas) i was wondeing who switched from the Glock to M&P and why. I own the M&P 45c which to me is a great 45acp. My trigger is smooth as hell almost feels like it was worked on. I shoot the M&P better than the glock and i like the M&P trigger better than the glock.
just my opinbion
