Glock or not?

We have Glock 21's as our issue gun with the department, and I will say they take any amount of abuse thrown at them, BUT, they are the ugliest pistol known to man. No matter how good they are, I have not been able to bring myself to purchase one. My only .45 pistol that I like has always been something in the 1911 variety.

I prefer to carry revolvers exclusively but the Glock is the only semiauto I'll ever own. My advice is that you buy a Glock and keep it stock, with the exception of the plastic sights and maybe the plastic guide rod. Do not swap spring weights! The less you tinker with these, the better off you'll be.

I feel the only justification for choosing the Glock over a revolver is for a military type application. For personal defense I will never deviate from the revolver, but for extremely harsh environments and ease of maintenance there is NOTHING that will beat a Glock.

Well, let me say, I purchased my brand new Glock 17 this month and WOW, am I impressed! Put about 100 rounds through it yesterday. Shoots like a champ and right dead on target! Love the way it feels in my hand and I love the way it shoots! I am so happy and I thank everyone for the advice. I am going to get rid of my S&W M&P9, maybe trade it for something else. Possibly a M&P 15-22? That would be fun.

Ive owned Glocks and M&P's shot both alot. The M&P goes BANG, every time just like a Glock, but the M&P, I shoot more accuratley and feels much better than any Glocks Ive owned.

I'm a revolver man who only just recently purchased a used but unfired Glock 17. Every cop I talked to swears by these guns and they all told me to leave it totally factory stock. I hope my Herrett-stocked 28 and trusted Model 10 will forgive me for this purchase.

Glocks are excellant weapons and do exactly what they were designed to do,......... shoot when they are supposed to. I love my Smiths and do carry a 58 occasionally as well as a 37 but my primary weapon is a Glock 32. No soul but they work.

Glock

I was in LE when these started to come out in numbers. I was one of those "I aint shootin no plastic POS" guys. I carried a Colt Gold Cup and figured if it wasn't steel, it wasn't a gun. Now years later I have aquirred a Glock 32. Not only do I love the way it shoots, I love the conversion capability. I feel secure with the Glock, never worry about it working. Needless to say, I'm a convert. I would recommend one without hesitation to someone I cared about. My oldest daughter is quite proficient with the 23 and I sleep better at night knowing she is able to defend herself.
Well, I'm rambling now but count one more vote for the Glocks.
(And yes, they are ugly as hell).
