Less than 2 weeks ago I sent my 3 Gen 2 Glocks back to Glock for inspection and possibly some spring upgrades (G21, G23, G27). I also sent all 14 magazines I had for them which were the originals or same vintage, purchased within a year of the gun purchases. I'm the original owner of all. Less than 2 weeks after sending the stuff in, they're back. All 14 magazines were replaced with new ones. all 3 guns came in standard Glock boxes with the normal new gun stuff (I sent them in one cardboard box with guns in bubble wrap). Included was a list of replaced parts. It was 5 pages. If you removed the header and the little bit on the 5th page that was blank, it would be 4 totally full pages of replaced parts totaling 81 parts, including 14 (Gen 4) magazines. I didn't know Glocks even had that many parts. It would appear they replaced everything on the guns except the slide, frame and barrel. And I can't even swear they're the same frames except the SNs are the same and they're all the same generation as sent in. They are all new Gen 2 guns now.

No charge!

Glock has some of the best CS in the business! Oh yeah, and they do have a few parts that make them tick.....:D

Curiosity got the better of me. I called Glock. Only 78 new parts including the new Gen 4 magazines. 3 of the part numbers were just numbers they assigned to my sent in guns for their purposes. When I expressed my surprise at the number of replaced parts the guy (Anthony) said they were pretty old guns (to him maybe) so they just automatically totally rebuilt them. OK, cool :-)

I always liked Glock. Have a 42, 43 (recently sold), 26, 29, and a couple 19s. Been on the fence about whether to snatch up a G20 for hiking. Could probably stick with the G29. But, I want to support a gun company that does business that way. Also, I am running out of excuses to buy guns so this is as good as any.

I've never sent any of my Glocks back for service, but I've been impressed with the function and reliability of the 3 Glocks I own from day one. It's great to hear how good the customer service is...just reinforces my good feelings for Glocks in general.

Just wish all manufacturers (guns and otherwise) were like that.:)

Good to see that you are happy and they took good care of you. One can also visit GSSF match and bring their gun with them and basically have it rebuilt for them on the spot. Magazine replacement is another story though. That is good service. I think people actually collect those older style magazines also. For most though, it would make more sense to get a replacement.

Some weren't even drop free. They can collect them if they want. Plus the mag latch holes were less than pristine on some. I'll gladly take the new ones. These guns are shooters and not safe queens. The local pawn has a Gen 1 17 if you're interested.

That is impressive, all the way around. I have gen 1, through gen 4 guns, all bought new by me. My gen 1 M17 has more rounds through it than any of my guns, including my PPC revolvers, which is saying something. Glad they took care of you, something for me to think about now. Enjoy your " revitalized " Glocks.
