Model 60, no question. If you decide you dont like it, you can always sell it. G19s are a dime-a-dozen tool. Model 60s are drop dead sexy.

What do you want a handgun for?

For defense, I would take a Glock 19 over a model 60, holds more rounds, easier to shoot

For shooting, I would take a Glock 19, much easier to shoot

For collectability's sake: model 60, I guess, if it's an early one.

If you are losing sleep over this, you need to get out more.

I have a Glock 23 (same size as the 19, but in .40). I wear it in a speed scabbard in the cool weather, but it prints through the camp shirt too much for the warm weather. So (just yesterday) I switched to my 640 Pro, which does not print at all.

But I consider the G23 to be a better defense weapon. It is perfectly reliable, carries a reasonably powerful round, and is easier to shoot accurately than is the revolver. It carries 10 rounds vs 5 rounds and reloads quicker.

But it prints through my shirt and I'm not sure what my employer's position is on guns in the workplace. So what he does not know, does not bother him.

Of course the 640 Pro is perfectly reliable and I can re-load quickly with the moon clips.

Keep the S&W steel and save for the tupperware glock. I have a glock 34 it is a very accurate pistol. It convinced me to order a g22c. Iwould not let your S&W go for the glock.I love my S&W REVOLVERS!I did a trigger job on the 34.Glocks are so easy to work on all you need is a 3/32 punch!

Both are nice.

Buy, or keep, both.

But post some pictures if you would - of the 60. We don't need to see the other.

Both are fine defense weapons and I would trust my life to either. You have been trusting your life to the Model 60 I see no reason not to continue to do so and certainly not to lose sleep over.

Now is the real issue you have Glock fever? If you do that's okay.If you think you will enjoy it more and shoot it more sure go ahead. But keep in mind what you are giving up.It's not just a classic model 60 that in all likelihood won't be produced the same way again. It's your classic model 60.You know it and are used to it specifically. My guess is if you sold it you'd eventually regret it.

I also fall into the camp of keep it and save for the Glock. If you want a quick fix go to the range and rent one and shoot a couple hundred rounds and really enjoy it.

And by all means get some sleep.

I have a GLOCK 19 with the GLOCK Tactical light/laser attached, laying beside my bed in a gun rug. The Xenon bulb will blind anyone, and the laser is spot on accurate. I have several S&W revolvers, but for protection, the GLOCK takes the lead. As some of the previous posts have stated, GLOCK 19's are easy to find, S&W vintage revolvers are a different story. My FFL dealer had a customer bring in a GLOCK 19 that had been run over by a logging truck, and still functioned properly. I would NEVER trade one of my S&W's for a GLOCK, but the 19 is a very dependable, great shooting gun. My 2 cents worth. I find that one of those sound machines will help you sleep (surf, storms, rain, etc)!

Why are you even wasting your time thinking about this? Selling that Model 60 to fund a Glock is like selling a Rolls Royce to buy a Buick. If you want a Glock, buy a Glock, but you'll regret selling that Smith as soon as you turn your back. I've had both and like both, but .....just my 2 cents worth.

You should post the model 60 for sale in the classifieds section and use the proceeeds of the sale to go buy the Glock 19... :D
