Go Chrome?

I run both Firefox and Chrome. I run Firefox with javascript disabled - which is much faster. I save Chrome for those few websites that don't work with Javascript disabled. The people who write those websites need to taken out back for some 'adjustment'.

I quit on Safari. It is tied too closely with the OS. You can't run the latest Safari without also upgrading to the latest OS.

I primarily use Firefox, also have IE installed and I use IE on occasion when it does something better than FF. Chrome installed itself on my laptop once, I tried it and didn't like it, I'm not much for change, wasn't as easy to use for me as FF. And since it installed itself that kinda ticked me off and I uninstalled it.

As a result of an experience I had five or so years ago, I'd suggest everyone have at least one backup browser installed on their computers. As I stated earlier, FF has been and still is my primary, but both Opera and Chrome are there if I need them.

I have been using FireFox for a few years without any trouble,Chrome is loaded with Spyware.

It's from mozilla.org.

Firefox is a free browser. No upgrade to a paid version has ever been possible.
It's been my go-to browser for years, on both Windows and Mac. The available add-on's allow great customization, for security and user friendliness.

Maybe you were hacked and someone spoofed your browser.

All products from Mozilla are open source. I like Thunderbird mail and Firefox. Their Audacity sound studio is fantastic.

I would suggest that if you have trouble with Firefox to where you don't like using it, it's not the Firefox program that is causing the problem.

No browser is great at everything, but non of the main ones are that troublesome.

I've been using the Epic browser that uses Chrome because it doesn't track you, allow others to track you and it doesn't even save a history.

I gave up computers altogether, once I bought an IPad I haven't started up the laptop. It has been almost three years. I don't use a computer for work so I have no need for one. These IPads are great never a problem, and a app for absolutely everything. JMHO

Um, even though it's named IPad, it's still a computer... ;)

Chrome is from Google. Google is a data collection and mining company. Use anything from Google with that in mind. Including Android, by the way.

I use Google products, I don't trust any of them.

Or you can keep multiple browsers on your PC.

That's what I have to use, due to certain supplier sites i need to access. Some either have specific requirements on browser type and version, or just what works best for processing in; i have to run 3 different browsers depending on the site i'm in at the time.
That said, i tend to stick in Chrome for my "day to day" stuff and use IE and Waterfox as needed.

ive been using firefox and windows 10 and all is 5X5.....windows 10 seems faster and with better security than windows 7.....

I have Microsoft Edge, IE11, FF, Chrome, AOL Shield, Opera, and Safari. 99 & 55/100% of the time I use IE11. AOL Shield is pretty fast at loading as is Opera but I don't like the layout of any of them enough to use any of them but rarely. The games that I play on line (MiniClip 8ball pool) is really cruddy with most of the other browsers and, if I sign in on say FF or Opera or any other browser it automatically signs me out on IE11.

Needless to say I absolutely hate Edge and it never fails if I download something that requires Adobe my machine will automatically revert to Edge. As far as I know there is absolutely no way around it and no way to un-install Edge.

This is strictly from an Apple perspective so YMMV. I use an online language program in a lab at school, teaching language to kids in K - 8. I have 25 iMacs. Some use FF, some have Chrome and all have Safari, the native browser.
We have recently been experiencing glitches where very inappropriate ads pop up while kids are using the online program. It may be coincidental but these ads always show up on Chrome, never, so far, on Firefox or Safari.
