God Bless America aint The Star Spangled Banner

I don't know why it bothers me so much. But it perturbs me at major league baseball games; in the 7th inning stretch; when they sing God Bless America; that everyone puts their hand over their heart like they're saluting the national anthem.

Hey I'm glad they're showing any respect at all. And I take my hat off. I just don't put it over my heart like I would for the anthem.

Sometimes it's the little things.....

Friend,

Word of advise:

Don’t even think about attending a professional football game.

Pecked out on my iPhone.

I have heard the public address announcer at professional baseball games tell the audience to stand and remove hats and place them over their heart.
I have heard it on tv enough to think that they do this at all the MLB stadiums.

My son and I were actually discussing this yesterday at the Cardinal game.

Of all the things to fret over, I place folks placing a hand over their heart while singing "God Bless America" right up there with 11 items in the express checkout.

Ironically here in NY at our local wegman's our express lines allow ONLY 7 items!

Just like the NY Safe act allows us 7+1 rounds in a firearm before the federal judged "ruled" in our favor...

10 or 10+1 who cares...

Anyone who pays $70-$300 a ticket for a seat at for any professional baseball, football, etc is a fool. Those people can remove their hats, hold a hand over their chests to whatever. These overpaid athletes are a joke. And we made them that way.

There’s only one person to sing God Bless America and she did it for many years before a Flyers game....
Here is the original God Bless America performed for the first time on Armistice Day November 10,1938 by non other than Kate Smith...
