What cartridge is best for Godzilla? JcMack's thread got me thinking.

First we have seen from the movies, that the Japanese tried all manor of small arms and artillery & tanks. We know for a fact that their stuff was Made in Japan in the 50's, so there is obviously a quality control issue!

Of the gun's I own, only two have any chance!

1) I have a WR Double in 450 3 1/4 NE with 480 grain solids, it will go clear through the 22" of varying density bone in an elephant's skull.

2) I have a long range target/sniper rifle in 338 Lapua. I saw some Brit mil surplus 225 grain steel core.

At 125 yards or less, these should have a small chance to at least wound him! (I don't think enraging him will be an issue!)

Can any of you save us?

Taking on Godzilla might call for a rifle, a Naval Rifle.

Godzilla is mankind's friend! He saves the world from lots of other beasties. Why would you want to shoot him? 😀

Godzilla was a villain in the first four movies, although usually without meaning to be - he was just big and stepped on things, and then retaliated when attacked:

Godzilla (1954);
Godzilla Raids Again (1955);
King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962); and
Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964)

After that it became rather muddled with Godzilla being a good guy, a bad guy or an antihero who wasn't a fan of Japan but had other conflicts that put him more or less on their side. or not depending on how whether the movie followed the original timeline, or was made as a standalone.

Awe come on fellows! Cannons??? Naw!!! I've got just the thing! Given maybe five minutes ... i.e., time enough to drink my mug of coffee and get "the thing," all would be ready! The "Thing" is my 1956 production Springfield M-1 Garand loaded up with some nice high quality M-2 Armor Piercing rounds. This stuff is pure poison on anything that walks or crawls in the southeastern United States. It works on relics of the dinosaur era that still lurk in the swamps, etc. It works on illegal aliens like assorted pythons, wild hogs, etc. It works on huge old cypress stumps that measure way over 30 inches as it will zip through that stuff like cardboard. A clip ... maybe part of another clip ... and anything from King Kong right on up to Godzilla will be down on the ground ready for the crews to come in and start the clean up. Now ... I've got to keep all this stuff about waxing Godzilla nice and quiet. My little grandson will be here at the parsonage tomorrow night ... with his favorite Godzilla toy in his hands. He thinks Godzilla is just a wonderful thing to play with. He probably wouldn't get on well with the idea that any of us were laying plans to lay Godzilla low. He might even turn his Godzilla loose on us all! Sincerely. bruce.

We weren't trying to upset your grandson, just protect hearth and home from radioactive fire breathing, 15 story tall, and Japanese city eating guys in green suites!

I was watching YouTube videos today,,

The PROVEN round, at under 100 yards,, is the 300 Blackout,,

The 300 Blackout is superior to EVERYTHING, at under 100 yards,,

The 300 Blackout will easily stop Godzilla, if the range is under 100 yards.

Don't anyone other than me watch YouTube??

Oh, yea, I forgot to mention, the 300 Blackout barrel MUST be ten inches long, OR LESS,,

Beyond ten inches, the 300 AAC starts to loose velocity,,

:rolleyes:
