Largest great white shark ever recorded spotted near famous vacation hotspot

The biggest adult, male great white shark to ever be recorded in the Atlantic Ocean was recently pinged off the coast of the Outer Banks in North Carolina.

In March, Contender was recorded swimming from Florida's eastern coast northward.

A month later, he was pinged again, this time near North and South Carolina's border.

From there, Contender continued moving north.

BTW. I see a reliably measured 20 footer was caught, of all places, in the Gulf of St. Lawrence in 1988

A boat out of Raleigh, captained by Bryant Montague, caught the first blue marlin of the 67th annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament. Lizzie Montague reeled in the impressive 449.7-pound fish.
