Going to purchase an X

I am going to pick up an x on sat, i am still fairly new to guns and especially the ar platform, so what should i look for when purchasing, also how can i tell how old the gun is (by the serial number)? gun is still new in box but want to know if its old stock and the build date

I have the 15X and it's a great rifle. I don't know about the serial numbers though. You could ask the dealer. He may be able to tell.

i dont live to far from licoln ne, how much did u pay for ur x and have u had any problems, also post some pics if u can, is urs just for taget shooting or do u hunt with it?

I got mine from CDNN on-line. It was $997 with shipping and then $20 to the dealer for the transfer. I haven't had any issues with mine so far. I love it. Mine is for home defense. I don't plan on doing any hunting with it. Unless shooting home invaders counts as hunting. LOL. The M&P 15 rifles are quality guns. You won't be disappointed.
