"SPEER GOLD DOT SB .357 IN MY COUNTRY"

"Finally good news, Speer Gold Dot 135 SB .357 has entered my country. It would be the first experience with this ammunition. Although the price will be high and will not be a practice ammunition, I am interested for those who have been able to use it, if being a reduced .357 load, it would no longer affect the weapon like the old loads of 125 grs, or if anyway being the shorter projectile than those of 140/158, the leakage of gases would cause the famous flame cut or erosion of the forcing cone. Greetings to all."

This load has been reported at about 1000-1050 fps out of a standard 4" revolver, so it 'should' not be as hard on the gun as the full 125 gr .357s.

I agree. I view this loading as a factory made .357 giving .38spl +P+ performance that can be counted on for reliable expansion from a short or snubb barrel. I also load some of these in .38spl cases with VV 3N37 to this same level for my own use, to facilitate ejection of spent cases.

No experience with the factory load but I load both the 110 and 135 grain Gold Dot in .38 S&W to right at that level using Herco powder. Have shot a bunch of them and have noticed no damage. 1000+ fps is fast fast in a .38 S&W .

I still have 145g Silvertip left and I only get Hornady Custom in 158g and Magtech Guardian Gold in 125g, I'm going to try the Gold Dot, it was always my choice in 9mm and 45 ACP, thanks for the answers.
