Good eating.

I like a great BLT and if I say so Myself, I make a real heart stopping killer. However My favorite sandwich is a Reuben. I will eat either one anytime. Starting tomorrow up here is the sweet corn festival. Lots of corn, butter, and S & P. Bad news for diabetics, but what the heck.

Good eating

I haven’t seen wild mushrooms mentioned, in this thread. They can be found in most areas of the USA, and during many seasons. There are many varieties.

There’s little nutritional value, or calories, but are quite a treat.

The 3% that are poisonous, must be avoided, as some are deadly.

If you haven’t tried mushrooms, I'll invite you to do so.

Morels, or sponge mushrooms, and Puffballs, are my favorites, but I love 'em all.

Folks not familiar with wild mushrooms, can find quite a variety at Kroger.

Recipes for their preparation abound.

'Shrooms rule.

I used to live north of Kennett Square, PA, a place renowned for growing mushrooms. One of the growers, Phillips Mushrooms, used to have a retail store on US 1. I would stop there on my way to Maryland and pick up some 3# baskets of their brown mushrooms for my aunt and uncle. My aunt would sautee them in butter and they were great.

I like mushrooms with about anything. When I was out of work I would convert Hamburger Helper into Mushroom Helper. I really got lucky whenI found the recipe for stuffed mushrooms in my stepmother's Hungarian cook book (modified by me using Tony Chachere's Original Creole Seasoning in place of salt).

Had a bottle of Ensure Plus yesterday with a banana. No dishes or pots to clean. But then I'm rarely hungry anymore. Wonder what that signifies...

Sorry to hear that, Kaaskop49, I hope things pick up for you soon. My wife is recovering from covid and has lost her sense of taste and smell. I hope it's only temporary as I do your lack of appetite.

Fish bait

Tomato-Worms/ Horn-worms;
There are most likely tomato worms eating the lush tomato vines that you pictured. The correct name for those worms is Horn Worms. They are just a thin skin full of juice. I wonder how many of you folks are aware of what great fish bait these worms are? They don’t sting with their horn. They must be fastened to a fishhook by tying it on, with lightweight sewing thread.
