Last fall I posted about my friend's little girl (my boy's very good friend) who was diagnosed with Leukemia. She has been at the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis since December undergoing and recovering from a bone marrow transplant.
I'm happy to report that she was discharged and is finally back at home with a good prognosis. The miracle of this whole story is that a few years ago my friend and his wife had another little girl even though she was supposed to be unable to become pregnant. That unplanned pregnancy led to a perfect match bone marrow donor for one lucky big sister.
My boy is still a bit upset that he still can't see his fiend (precautions due to a weakened immune system), but he's been praying for her every night and he seems to understand that it is best to wait until she is fully recovered.
This is them shortly before she got sick.
