So many seem to be unhappy with the Postal service but not me. I get emails fromCopper and Clad, as probably many on here do, about Buck knives for sale. I bought one Sunday with my CC. Got an email Monday that it had been shipped by first class mail. Checked the tracking number Tuesday, on the way, delivery expected Monday the 15th. But NO, in my mailbox today the 10th! Five days early? Only two days? Wow. So the good old USPS is still the shipper the others have to try to beat :)

Living in a condo complex, we have gang mail boxes all in one cluster for 400+ condos. There are several out going slots the letter carrier empties (supposedly) every day. I mailed the utility bills and condo fees from these early in the Covid shut down. None of my bills got paid for over 60 days! I called the local Postmaster's answering machine and my checks all cleared in 3 or 4 days depending on destination. So either our mail slots were not emptied, or more likely they rode around in the back of his mail truck.

I think the USPS is a pretty good system, but it only takes a few idiots to screw up! I know where one is!!!

Ivan

All our outgoing mail, is mailed just outside the post office now.

We buy lots of stuff mailed via USPS; never had a problem. My issue with our local post office, is it never fails that during the busiest time of the day, a long line of folks waiting and 1 or 2 windows open.

They are hit and miss. Last week I got 2 credit card bills on the same day. One was a month late! Got a nice $35 late fee. Called the bank and got it reversed as I've never missed a payment before.

My daughter buys a lot of stuff on line and also her medicine is also delivered. The most reliable of all services is USPS. FEDEX used to be really good but the last two things I bought moved a few miles from Memphis and stayed there five days.

I had a credit card payment delivered late when I sent the payment at least 2 weeks before the due date. Luckily I had enough in the bank to pay the bill electronically in time. I have now advanced to being a semi-Luddite as I now pay as many of my bills as possible electronically because I don't want to rely on the Post Office anymore.

In my area, the USPS is very expedient and reliable. On the other hand, I have had delays and problems with Federal Express and UPS. Amazon is also quite good with their shipping. I prefer to use USPS, but I think they should go back to being the US Mail and being run like a government service (like the FBI or the military), rather than some sort of government run business hybrid.
