I'm looking for a good pocket holster for my new 638. Right now it's riding in an Uncle Mike's #4 pocket holster and that works fine, I just figure a gun that nice deserves something better :o)

I used to have a Mika's pocket holster and liked it, but his wait time is 16-20 weeks right now. I've tried the Desantis Nemesis (twice) and it just doesn't work for me. I'd prefer something in leather. Any suggestions?

Black hills leather does a great job. I have them for j-frames, derringers. I also had him do a dual holster shoulder rig which is excellent. I was carrying my 638 in an uncle mike's # 3 before I got this one. Rudy produces excellent holsters at very competitive prices, with satisfaction guaranteed. Time is anywhere from 2-4 wks on most items. Good luck NO JUSTICE NO PEACE

Wait times for the best work are going to be inevitable. My J Frame is in a Pocket Concealment Sysytems Black Bird when pocket carried. Also like a the K&D Pocket defender.

I have found my Kramer to be the best wrap and ride for my 442.

The PCS Blackbird is next.

Personally, I would go back to the Mika. It's worth the wait. I tried several different pocket holsters before I bit the bullet and ordered a Mika about a year ago.

I will admit that despite the rave reviews, I wasn't totally sold on it when it first arrived. But I've grown to love it. It really settles in after wearing it a few times, and I wouldn't use anything else.

The very best pocket holster I ever owned was a Milt Sparks PCH-R.

They are $80 + $12 shipping and a 6 month wait, but most definitely worth every penny and every hour of every day.

As soon as I have the funds, I'm ordering another one. Mine got sold with the 442 I had in it last year.

ab4ka: is that a cockapoo in your photo? I have two myself.

I have tried dozens of J-Frame holsters over the years.

The Desantis Nemesis is the best pocket holster I've found, cheap, comfortable, and it stays in your pocket.

The Alessi Talon is the best clip holster I've found, not too expensive, really strong clip and great profile.

Those are the two I use most often.

He's our Cocker Spaniel...that's our baby :)

The Uncle Mike's works well so I suppose I should just stick with it...although I'm sure I'll keep my eyes open at the next gunshow :D

I like Uncle Mike's products a lot but I have found their pocket holsters often come out with the gun.. beware.

MIKA

I've used the Mika for my 642 for a few years. It stays put and doesn't print in most pants. Also have an Uncle Mikes for my P-11.

I use a size #3 Uncle Mike's pocket holster for J-Frames.

I have a Mika for a 649 that I used for about 5 minutes and put it back in the "holster box", and a Kramer for the smaller 340 that I used for about 4 months prior to boxing it. There is also a 5 minute old Nemisis in the box.

I just wash the Uncle Mike's every few months, then throw it away and replace it once a year.

When I got my Del Fatti IWB I took the clip off my interim Uncle Mike's $7 POS and used that...but to be honest, I rarely pocket carry.....

Yep, I agree. I have tried a number of the big name pocket holsters and keep coming back to my well worn Uncle Mike's holster, affectionately known as 'Foamy'. :D

Lobo Leather

I got this one from Lobo Leather. If memory serves, $29 shipped with less than 2 weeks turnaround. Ray is a member of this Forum, is a great guy to deal with and does excellent quality work for the money.

I've tried a lot of pocket holsters for my several Centennials. I have a Mika's on order because of the rave reviews but other holsters work very well for me, including both the Uncle Mike's and the DeSantis Nemesis. I also like the Safariland pocket holster but its hard plastic interior will eat the finish off a gun in short order. It sure is slick on the draw, however. My favorite is the Galco Horsehide model. It's wide and stiff, once it's in the pocket it doesn't budge and it's sometimes difficult to get it out when you want to. But it's hard to quarrel with the value in an Uncle Mike's Number 3 or Nemesis for the J-frames.

I have a older Kramer leather pocket holster but rarely ever use it because it weighs almost what the gun does..
Instead I use an Uncle Mikes IWB like the one Sipowix shows that has the clip removed & it is my #1 Pocket Holster for my 642/942 Centennial..
It fits the gun better than the pocket holster that Uncle Mikes makes for the J Frame..
I've always wanted to try a Mika but would think that it's Too Bulky just by looking at them..
It would probobly end up with these in my stash..

I think Kramer makes the best leather inside the pocket holsters.
