Good Times seem to be over for the firearms industry for now

Well as a side addendum, in NC they are revisiting the idea of allowing anyone over the age of 18, the ability to purchase a pistol without purchase permit (currently a $5 deal through the sheriff's office, in leiu of having a concealed carry permit). Then they also want to allow anyone in the state over that 18 threshold to be allowed to open or conceal carry without a permit. I personally am troubled by this but bring it up because it is the complete opposite end of the spectrum from the issues of California but it also makes me wonder how that will impact firearm sales with our state if there are no permits required for pistols. What do you guys think?

After the 2008 election, I started buying reloading componants on a regular basis. At this point at age 66, I really won't ever need to buy any more in my lifetime.

Here in California we will continue to hoard ammo. But with good reason...after Dec 31st we cannot buy ammo over the internet and will be forced to pay top dollar for it in stores. This of course is after we buy our ammo permit and get fingerprinted for it.
Dave, don't move back to NY, they're nipping at CA's heels.

I agree. As this is the second time this has been proposed based upon what I know.

suggestion: bottom of golf bag...returning from golf trip....:D or does kalifornia have border control with ammo sniffing dogs? Never heard of such......wow.......

Yeah but, you HAVE heard of Eliot Ness's Agency before..............................................................:D

remember the CB radio craze of the 70's?. Just about everyone I knew had one, then there were the goodies like the power mikes, special antennas and such. Few years later when the market was saturated you couldn't give them away and the craze eventually dies out and the whole thing went away. Frank

I remember the craze. My handle was: Moondoggie." We had 2 CBs and a base-station.:o

Admitting that I'm putting off reading this thread for later, life is good again. Yesterday I bought an old fashioned 500 round brick, 10 boxes inside an outer box, of Federal Champion 40 grain .22 LR for $19.99 + sales tax at Fred Meyer. Low priced bulk pack can not be far in the future. :)

At the $200 posted above I might even get tempted to buy a modern plastic wonder gun. Maybe I should stay out of local guns store until Trump has been in office a few years. By that time I expect we will be able to scrape a rancid possum off the road and easily trade it for 3 or 4 AR-15s.

HA! Quick Google search turned up a post that they were floggin' American Eagle .22 for $89.99/500 in 2014. ;)
