I will be sending a email to them to confirm if this is true or not. If it is Time for a new search engine unless they block the other dangerous items that can be searched, knives, base ball bats, poisonous chemicals, how to make dangerous materials and things that go bang, among a small list of things I could come up with out of a large list, and the biggest automobile ads which are the highest killer of young and old in the country.

At this point I am guessing you will still be able to use Google for searches for the below items but that Google will not accept ads for the below items(?). We'll know by this fall.

I have Google Ads blocked, along with most other ads, so this won't bother me. I still search for gun parts using Google, I just don't click through their ads. It's a win win.

Since googles aim is to invade our privacy to the maximum extent available I have stayed away from their search engine and any other of their programs I'm aware of.

Though I'm not aware of Microsofts intentions, I've been using BING.

I've started using Duck Duck Go as my search engine. Seems to work almost as well as Google and no ads.

As an added benefit, Duck Duck Go is the only search engine that does not archive ANYTHING related to the searches done, so...if you are a paranoid, conspiracy theorist, tinfoil hat wearing nutjob like me, the NSA can't track any search info either thru the search engine OR on your computer. ALL search info juust disappears.

I've been using Pale Moon, which is also built on the Firefox engine, but with better anonymity.

I wish they'd block every ad. I'd pay extra for that search engine.

The big issue is there isn't much alternative for search engines (assuming you actually want to find anything). Bing is a joke and I gave up on Yahoo more than a decade ago when they started the intrusive advertising.
Same with phones, Google, Apple, Microsoft, I stick with the least suck of the three and then use my own sync server.
