Google!

didnt know who he was , read the wikipedia link so now im an expert.haha
seems like he was a good guy, unless you were a grower counting on paying slave wages to bring your crop in.

Commie?
Labor organizers often get labeled that. I'm not sure it fits in this case.

Thank you. I was working up to fairly fiery post on this topic, and I am glad you came in with a quiet one.

I have high regard for Cesar Chavez, and I didn't mind in the least paying more for table grapes and lettuce in the '80s than I had in the '70s. Chavez actually practiced what the scriptures preach in his efforts to improve the lot of the working poor, and even though it is a complete coincidence that Easter falls on his birthday this year, I find it completely appropriate for him to be honored on this day of Christian significance.

Hmm. That brings up a point. I wonder what Jesus would think about Chavez?

OK, but what does he have to do with Easter? I am not smart enough apparently because I don't know the connection to Easter or a religious holiday? Maybe they meant to put him up on Labor Day and got confused. Is his birthday more important than Easter?

Cesar Chavez Day was declared back in 2011. It's pure coincidence that Easter fell on March 31st (his birthday) this year. The two have nothing else in common. Next Easter will not fall on March 31st.

I finally deleted Google as a favorite and replaced it with Bing.

Communist? I don't know. Socialist? Wasn't Saul his hero?
