Got an SW40VE

Congrats on your "new" pistol. People knock the Sigma because of the trigger pull, but seem to forget that S&W built it that way from the requests of police departments. They do make adjustable sights for them, I think Williams may be one brand. I carry my SD40VE daily and still have no regrets about buying this pistol. I feed mine a steady diet of Federal Champion aluminum ammo at the range because I don't reload. Also reloaded ammo from Freedom Munitions. But for carrying, I keep it loaded with Hornady XTP 180gr ammo. These pistols are like starving hogs. They eat everything you feed them.

Matt

I also have a sw40ve (very recently acquired). I'm trying to learn and decode the different nomenclatures, like the difference between sd40ve vs sw40ve? are mags interchangeable? etc, stuff like that. interested in sight options though I read the front sight is "fixed" to the slide. fired it on the range today without any issues.

The SW/SD magazines are interchangeable within caliber (watch out for different thickness baseplates on some versions), and the trigger springs interchange. Not much else. The sears and sights are completely different.

SW .40 tends to shoot to POA with 165/180gr ammo.
Never found the need for adjustable sights on them.
