Started out great. Beautiful weather, got my obligations finished easily so me and my dog Barney hooked up the boat to take to the repair shop about 15 miles away. All good so far.

Traffic was light on I-65 so I roll all 4 windows down and open the sunroof, running in the slow lane at 55. Whoosh, a piece of paper that was tucked over my visor was out the window in a flash.

Stupid tax of $36 paid. It was a Menard's rebate slip that has now gone to money heaven somewhere around St. Catherine exit on I-65 s. :(

Good news is the weather is still beautiful and our trip was otherwise uneventful. :)

Reason for the trip was to have Bill Burnett tune up a 90hp 2 stroke Mercury that has been sitting. Nobody better than Bill's Professional Marine on Poplar Level Rd when it comes to Mercury outboards. We've been pals since the late 70s and he's got 2 mechanics that have been with him over 30 years. Old school gearheads that know their stuff.

A stupid tax is going into some place in Seattle and ordering a Coke and having to pay a stupid tax of .35 on a sugared drink

Who drives with the windows down??? Too much dust, exhaust and unnamed crud around to do that, IMHO.

I've been to Las Vegas and I agree, roll up the windows and air freshener wouldn't hurt. :D

You obviously haven't been to Kentucky in early May when the temp is 72, the sky is the definition of blue, everything is blooming and budding out and there was a heavy rain a couple days before to settle the dust and rinse things off. Doesn't get any better weatherwise than what the Ohio River Valley is like today. :)

Sounds great, but I have allergies.:D

I once loaned my brother-in-law $800 and when it was time to repay it, he said his wife was driving to our house with the cash stuck up in the visor. She rolled down the windows and the cash was sucked out and she couldn't recover it.

That was in 1988...still haven't seen hide nor hair of that money. I wonder if I should give up on getting it back? ;)

Happy you only lost the rebate slip...and did not have to pay the littering fine..:D:D
Yeah but his name is on it, they will send him a bill. [emoji46]

Reminds me of a time years ago, the X-wife and I were cruising in a Vette with the tops out. We decide to stop for some refreshments and she says I'll go in, just give me some money.

We were still on the freeway running about 70 mph when I handed her a $20. She went to shove it in her purse, and let go of it before snapping it shut (of course). I can still see that $20 bill flyup out of her purse, circle the cockpit as if taunting us, and then zipped up and out the top, never to be seen again. (by me)

I always hoped someone that really needed it badly is the one the Lord was sending it to. We actually laughed about it at the time. (heck, I could use it now!) Stupid Tax Paid

stupid tax = RMD..required minimum distribution forced on folks 70 1/2 years old to withdraw $$ from their retirement accounts and then pay tax ON THE WITHDRAWALS.....

Should have put it into a Roth IRA. Pay me now or pay me later, IRS is going to get it eventually.

That's what I do with half of my RMD. So my retirement is funding my next retirement.....
