got lucky on 22 ammo at walmart

got some new tires for my jeep a few weeks ago at local wal mart .
when airing my tires a couple of days ago , discovered i had one missing valve stem cap... my mis-placement .
stopped back into their tire service center & they fixed me up with a brand new cap.
just decided to check the guns/ammo dept. , just for the fun of it , and low & behold there was one 550 count 22 federal bulk pack on the shelf ! was $26 and some pennies w/ the tax .
i was mildly shocked cause in checking every so often for the last 3-4 months , the ammo selection had been pretty crappy ! first time i actually found something at a good price . the clerk said they initially got in around 7-8 of the bulk packs a few days ago .
still got the 22's on the kitchen table admiring them .

I (or should say my wife) paid $202.73 for a brick of 22 Blazers at Sportsman's Warehouse, but it came with a Ruger 10-22.

Apparently they only sell 22 ammo if you by a 22 cal gun now days.

But I needs a semi auto 22 anyway. Now I have to spend another $200 for a trigger.

You are very fortunate. I have not in this area been able to find .22 LR ammo at a Wal-Mart since about May of this year.

I went to 3 different gun shops (not Walmart) in 2 states yesterday. One store had 6 bricks of 330 rnds on the shelf and were for sale at $26.95/brick, one brick/customer.

Another had cases available at $49.95/ 550 in a brick....2 brick limit.

The 3rd shop had a few 550 rnd bricks at only $99.95/brick..one brick per customer.

I purchased 1000 rounds of Winchester 22lr for $49.99 at our local
Wal-Mart this week. This was not a great price, but, they did have it in stock. I bought the last box in stock.

That's a great score. I just paid $55 for 450 rounds at a Denver gun show.

I was in at Walmart on the west end of Billings,MT and I was there at the right time the clerk was just unpacking that day's delivery. I was able to score a box of 525 rounds of Federal LR for 24.99. Sometimes I do manage to be in the right place at the right time. This was about two weeks ago haven't been back in for a while but the ammo shelves are starting to fill up a bit more.

Try the Volquartzen hammer on it's own before ya go dropping a bunch of cash. About $40 and IMO a worthy upgrade. Of course, if you're used to big $$$ match quality rifles it probably won't be good enough.

While you're in there you can easily make the bolt release mod. Eliminates the PITA gyrations you need to go through to get the 10/22 bolt to release.

Loads of videos on the mod. Choose the one that's easiest. Make sure to polish up any burrs on the plate. Mine would hang up & I had to take it apart again.
