I have been looking at .22 revolvers and since I'm a relative noob to wheelguns, it took a while to deal with the price of them compared to larger calibers. Anyway, I've been bidding on a few on GB and AA always to get outbid by someone with deeper pockets or more patience than me to sit there and keep going back and forth with the 10 and 15 minute rules.
So, after being frustrated from losing a nice 63 that JacktheDog had last night, I went surfing for one on GB and found one with a BuyitNow. I emailed the seller asking if he would ship it for the BiN price, and he said sure.............so I hit the button.
The wife took it pretty well even though it is the most expensive one yet in my meager collection consisting of a 66-1, 15-2 snubbie and a 637. This one is a beauty even if I did pay more than it's probably worth, but it's worth it to me since they seem somewhat hard to find. I think I got attached to them because the look so similar to my 66-1. Can someone tell me when it was born? The seller says the serial number is 173xx........

Certainly a nice one. It's a lifetime keeper. A little over the top end on price, but hey, you wanted one and you got it.:D I wouldn't sell mine for that price.

Yea, I know I paid a bit too much for it, but I was just getting frustrated with being outbid. Not too mention the fact I never see them at local gun shows. Plus, I had the cash and knew if I didn't get one now, the money would be spent elsewhere. :p
I don't acquire these guns to find them cheap, I purchase them because I really really like them and have no desire to ever sell them.
Got any idea of when it was born by the serial number?

Not sure how many digits. I just know what the seller had in the listing 173xx, but did not have any pics of it. Guess I will have to wait until it shows up here and post it, which should be in about a week.
I wasn't sure which forum to start this thread in, because I don't know the year it was made, but since it is pinned, I figured I would post it here in the 61-80 section.

Not terrible...I just paid $740 for a 2" M63...should be here tomorrow :D Yeah, it sounds spendy for a .22, but the snubbie M63's are a little scarce and the one I'm getting is NIB. It'll be one that I keep for as long as I breathe, so like you, I didn't mind paying the price. As you probably noticed, even the 4"-ers are getting pretty difficult to find. Who knows what the availability will be like 10 years from now! Congrats on the M63 from another soon-to-be M63 owner :)
