what would you guys recommend for a good case that might also hold a handgun or two, and what are some good sites to get it from along with other decently priced 15-22 accessories

sites I have used are thegunsource.com, midwayusa.com, cabelas.com. I bought a bulldog softside case for my M&P 15-22, it holds 4 25 round mags and has a zipper pocket that hold my LC9, but thats about it. I saw some that advertised ability to carry two pistols. I bought mine from thegunsource.com.

At first I was thinking of picking up a soft "tactical" style case. Midwayusa has some on sale for $19. I was thinking also of soft cases made by Allen($30 at LGS) or Bulldog ($35 at LGS).

I went to my local gun store and found a Hard Plano scoped rifle case for $20. I chose that over the soft tactical cases because it has better protection and it won't fall down when i set the case down. It is big enough to fit a couple mags and 1-2 pistols. I also felt that with the soft cases, the rifle can shift around instead of staying put.

Some reviews may say it has flimsy plastic. Plastic is kind of thin but for $20ish, it is very nice and sturdy.

For just carrying to the range I use an Uncle Mikes bag for the 15-22 cuz it's cheap and the right length at 33in. Those extra long hinged cases are a pain. I have a very nice hard case for extended travel but that's it. Handguns go to the range in a Midway range bag along with ammo and stuff.

Top loading backpack

I use a top-loading backpack. It works fine. Weight distributed to both shoulders and has a belt to apply some weight on hips. Best of all, since I live in suburbia, it does not draw attention.

I have this from Midway.
MidwayUSA Pro Series Tactical Rifle Gun Case - MidwayUSA

I have the 34" but wish I got the next size up as the gun fully collapsed barely fits in. Other than that its great. I keep 6 mags in the front pockets and the other compartment is big enough to store all of my ammo and cleaning stuff. It also has straps to keep your gun secure which you can move the position of to get it perfect. I really like this bag.

Hey, all those cases are nice, but they all appear to be hard cases, does anyone have a suggestion for a soft case. In addition to the M&P, I have 2 scopes, 2 - 25 round mags to store, I would love to be able to fit a Mossberg 500 12 gauge in there also with some ammo. (only 18" long)
Thanks, any and all suggestions are appreciated.

I mentioned my softside. If you go to the gunsource website, they have some dual rifle softside cases that also hold a couple pistols. Don't recall the brand. I almost opted for one, but got a single 35" bulldog, didn't want to have to lug around a bunch of weight in one bag if I only wanted the one gun to go with me (I pretty much have a case per rifle/shotgun). I bought the cheaper Bulldog, they have one about 10 bucks more and it floats. Both, as well as many others, have deidcated mag pockets, most with 4 pockets, that hold the AR15 style mags which includes the 15-22 mags. I keep all 4 mags loaded in the mag pouches, perfect fit. The 35" is a snug fit on my 15-22 collapsed with fore grip and red dot mounted. Comes with standard carry handles as well as a sling strap carry strap.

I have a UTG 34" Covert Homeland Security soft case. The 32" would fit my 15-22 but it would be tight, so for only a 2 inch difference that you can't tell by looking at, I went with the slightly longer one.

I like it because it's a rectangle shape and it has a shoulder strap on the back. It has 2 main compartments, and I can easily hold my 15-22 and 3 pistols in the main compartment with the supplied Molle straps, and I can easily put 8 of my 15-22 mags in the smaller compartment, and still have room for more stuff without the bag buldging out. Not bad for $29.

Not my pic, but you get the idea with the look.

I have the MOLLE-200 series cases (single rifles) from the same source and am very impressed with them. I might get one of the doubles for my new 15-22 and the 5.56 counterpart rifle anyway.

The Condor mfg. cases are a ridiculously good value for the money.

I too use the Plano double rifle hard cases.

1.) Holds scoped 15-22, 4 mags, bipod, buis, and misc small allens and batteries. Good case for the money, keeps everything from moving.

2.) Holds reflex sighted Mossberg 500, extra barrel

I got the voodoo tactical 2 rifle soft case I really like it. It has 3 pockets on the front and some molle straps and has backpack type shoulder straps
