Got my 9mm SHIELD... makes a pretty bludgeon.

Oh BTY,
Soros is an ultra liberal who has given Obama millions of dollars in campaign contributions.
And Soros also owns Progressive Insurance. I know everyone here has seen those multitude of commercials on TV with that woman trying to hand out those little devices to TRACK your every move.

FYI: This is an email I just received.
You may not know this but George Soros owns most of the ammunition manufacturing companies and many arms manufacturers as well. He's selling ONLY to the government right now, per WH & DHS orders. My son works for ATK, who owns just about all the rest of the ammunition companies that Soros doesn't own. He tells me that ATK has been ordered by the federal government to curtail sales of ammunition, primers and powder to the retail market. What you see currently on the shelves is old stock and what's left in the warehouses since the CT shootings and new stock will NOT be appearing anytime soon. ATK and Soros' compaies have more than enough government contracts to keep them going for years to come.
Like, Soros' companies, ATK is a huge defense contractor and they've been told to sell ONLY to the DOD, TSA, FBI, DHS and local/federal law enforcement agencies.
My son has seen the proposed pricing schedule for Federal, CCI, Hornaday, Remington, Winchester and several other ammunition manufacturer's lines of ammunition, components, reloading equipment (ATK owns Outers, RCBS, Hoppe and a host of others) and he's flabbergasted. As an example, when the sales of .22 LR bulk ammo resumes, the pricing will be over $50 for a 535-round Value Pak. They're also going to raise the prices by 300-400% on dies, presses, powder measures and the like.
He's in management there at ATK in Salt Lake City and they're NOT happy with it all all. They firmly believe this will basically shutdown the civilian market while leaving the government as the only purchaser of their products.

OMG.... Really? :p

I get emails from overseas billionaires who want me to help them smuggle millions of dollars out of their country and are willing to cut me in for 30%. ;)

It must be real.... At least a friend of my cousin who works with this guy said it was...

Progressive is owned by Peter Lewis.......not Soros

He is a left wing liberal though

All the **** in that post was debunked already Jeesh

in a word...learn to reload....get what you want, when you want it

Kenny:

My friend who reloads is faced with a primer shortage.

I think everything gun is hard to find that is why I am considering taking up needle point.

Last I checked needles are in abundance and New York has not yet outlawed the mega pack but a task force has been assembled to determine the long term effects of finger prick.

10-4 on needlepoint :D it's not good to keep a low supply at any point...i can only say in my area (central virginia) i can find primers,etc....you will save a LOT of $$ reloading

bludgeons

I don't own any Glocks, never have. Not to say they aren't good guns. But wouldn't a Glock 19 be more comparable with a M&P9c than a Shield? And I don't believe you could get a new Glock 19 for around $400. I could be way off base here. Wouldn't be the first time. But I just don't think it's a fair comparison. I do agree with "the ammo shortage is everywhere" though!

I'm confused...I thought Jhawk was comparing bludgeons? I'm going with an aluminum baseball bat. Pick one up at a garage sale for a couple of bucks. Better reach than a shield or G19. Ammo shortage in CO too. BTY, If you find a Glock for under $500 better grab it. Got the afternoon off so think I'll take my G19 bludgeon to the range and smash some targets. :D

My company (Anixter International Inc.) is HQ'ed in Glenview, Illinois. I have turned down more than a handful of other positions because it would require me to move to IL. Feel sorry for the residents of that terribly ran state.

Because that's the only thing I'll be able to use it as for the foreseeable future. There hasn't been any 9mm ammo available within 100 miles for months.

Joy.

Welcome to The People's Republic of Illinois.

Get on the internet several times a day. Keep checking out all the online ammo sites (google search). Luckygunner has been good to me...right now they have a good supply of .223/5.56 ammo (and it is pricey). 9mm is hard to come by but you might get lucky....expect to pay around $25.00 plus for a box of 50 (at this time) and it probably wont be the brand/type you want either. What I did was bite the "bullet" and just bought 1000 rds when it became available (and it was expensive too). Otherwise use it (Shield) for a paper weight....just be patient. IMHO things will not improve for several month on the ammo crisis. .22 rimfire is almost impossible to find....I am down to about 200 rds of that...good luck and get online and check often.:D

Nothing bludgeons like a Glock....and here is why.

First you get a G34 (ok whatever is the long version of the G17 9mm). Longer barrel =longer reach! Ok you got that now get a 33 round mag that sticks out very far. This way you have a longer grip. Lastly you want to get that little K-bar knife that attaches to the bottom of the barrel via a rail!!!! TAADAAA!! You now have a pick axe!! :D:D

You could do this with any gun but those long mags is what makes a difference!

Ideally you'd want a 3rd gen S&W steel semi auto, with a rail, for the increased weight but im not sure how easy it would be to find those really long mags!

Check often or keep the window open and it will beep when new stuff is listed. I just got 500 rounds of 9mm for $160 shipped. It was back ordered for a month.

I just checked the ammo link gunbot.net and there is SB 9 mm ball in stock though expensive. I have not checked the map for your exact location, but there is 9mm available in southern wi. I know the local walmart has been getting 9, 40,45 of various brands, practice and carry. Be Safe,
