Got my new Labradar

Our indoor range's benchtops are not completely stable so I found much better results
mounting the LabRadar on a separate camera tripod next to me.
The instructions I have (first run of the units) mention moving the muzzle forwards some if having
trouble with muzzle blast and to have revolvers' cylinder gap forward as well.
Has worked well for me.
My unit is so old it does not have the bluetooth module in it.
(I have updated the firmware at least 6 times)
I lay a small laser bore-sighting module on the aiming crack to aim at the indoor range.
Something I had lying around anyway.
The external battery is almost mandatory IMHO as regular batteries get eaten very quickly.
I don't like leaving normal batteries in equipment as they can leak and damage those rigs.
Lost my first digital camera that way.
I mounted some 3M "dual-lock" supervelcro on the side to hold that battery.
Never had much problem triggering in general as all my shooting is with 44's of some sort: Special thru 444.
Found an old laptop briefcase that carries everything nicely except the tripod.

Thanks guys.

I tried every shooting position I could with the AR15 but never found a good one & then it got late so I packed up.

I did try with the muzzle varying distances away & forward of the LabRadar too.

My original & most used setup is as shown in the pic above & it's worked great with handguns & pistol caliber AR pistols.

What I didn't like about the setup was when I had someone in the lane left of me shooting off of their bench &/or throwing brass at my unit.

That provoked me to try using a standard size camera tripod set up just behind the bench (see pic below). This is a good arrangement too though it positions me more towards the lane's entrance & people walking by.

Like Nemo288 mentioned, I too found that one of my old work laptop bags (which has multiple sections & can almost hold the kitchen sink too :p) worked great for consolidating all of my accessories into it, since I often go alone.

The short tripod, for use on the bench, fits in the laptop bag so that leaves me carrying in it, my range bag, & my 3 ft long cardboard tube with my paper targets in it when I check-in at the range.

If I take the standard size tripod that's another item to carry, as is the AR15, so I'll need an extra pair of hands, or to take my cart, to help carry everything with this setup. :p

I did come to the conclusion that, while muzzle blast debris may be a problem with my LabRadar errors, I think the likely cause (as Nemo288 said too) of my errors was the muzzle blast shaking the bench that the LabRadar was sitting on. (I never touched or rested on the bench when shooting the AR15.)

Testing with the standard tripod next time should answer that question. If not... :p

Yeah that looks very much like how I set up either indoors or out.
I was somehow unable to attach this pic to my previous post.
