Got My New M&P Shield

Just got my new M&P Shield 9 today, got it cleaned and ready for the range. It's 27* here today and no indoor range so may have to wait a few days to try it out, I have to say I love the feel of the gun, and so does the so does the little woman, she carries a .380 Bodyguard but I will get her comfortable with the Shield too. Once I get to shoot it I will give my impression, first impression is how much cheaper 9mm ammo is versus .380.

Welcome to the Shield family! The wife and I both carry Shields. Takes a bit of getting used to at first compared to the full size, but it's a great gun to shoot, and literally disappears in a good IWB holster.

OK, I couldn't wait, like a kid at Christmas. The wife went into town and I looked up the street and saw the neighbors were gone so I went back into the woods where I have a dirt burm and fired off 10 rounds, 5 Federal 124g and 5 WWB 115g. I love the feel of the trigger and the recoil is less than I expected, I think I'm going to love this firearm. The next warm day off to the range, even tho I live in the County and the Sheriff says it's legal for me to shoot here the city limits is right next door and I don't want to antagonize my cranky neighbors in the 2 houses close to me.

Cranky neighbors would be the reason I would be shooting if it is legal.

Best time to buy guns is in the spring. That way you get to savor the process and only have to fondle them for a few weeks before you get to shoot them. At this time of the year, I'd have to fondle them for 6 months minimum.

It's usually not this cold yet, average in 60s this time of year, wish you would have kept the cold up there in Michigan, sad thing is I had to put my Goldwing Trike in storage for the winter earlier this year.

I just bought my Shield today, but can't pick it up till the 25th (California). Now I have four 45s and four 9mms.

I love my Shield! First firearm I picked out and bought myself. I have a Baretta 950 jetfire that was a Christmas present one year.

Congrats!! Good luck with the neighbors. You might want to invite them over to test it. That way they might be a little more understanding. Its a hard gun to put down.

My wife and I rented a Shield, and we both fell in love with it. Simple solution, we bought 2 of them. We took them to the range this past weekend, and didn't experience one problem. I'm going to put more rounds through them, but think it will become my EDC.
