Got the all clear today! Monday afternoon, I went for a scheduled Chest and Abdomen CT Scan. I have been doing this on a regular basis since my rectal cancer surgery in 2017. Usually when you have been all clear for 5 years, they cut you loose. For me, I went in for my 5 year CT Scan last year. Unfortunately, when I went in to get the results from my Oncologist, he said there was a little something on it that was concerning. Six weeks later, I had a PET Scan. Thankfully, it came back with no problems.

When I went to get the results today, I had already looked on “MyChart” online. I interpreted the doctor’s speak as everything was fine again, but I had done that before and was wrong. So, I wanted to get the news straight from the doctor’s mouth. He told me everything looked good and that he was cutting me loose!:D They said that even though they liked me a lot, they hoped that they wouldn’t see me again…..at their office anyway.

So, I am good to go, and only need to do my normal doctor’s appointments. I have problems caused by my cancer and it’s treatment, but I don’t have cancer anymore.🙏

Fantastic new- congratulations! Certainly reason for celebration.

My wife is cancer free for soon to be 20 years.

Unfortunately, my son, who is a brand new Dad, will be undergoing a procedure tomorrow for bladder cancer. Hopefully it has been caught early, but as it’s been said, “… not until the Fat Lady sings.”

I am waiting for my 5 years clear from my last cancer.. started in 2015 with Colon-rectal cancer.. and almost made it to clear... the clock then starts over.. now I just deal with the aftereffects of the cure while waiting... congratulations
